The PADI Scuba Diver Experience :

The two day ?Scuba Diver? course was designed for those who don?t have enough time to complete the entire Open Water Diver course in one go, or if somebody needs to interrupt this course for any reason. The Scuba Diver course offers a fast and convenient way for everybody from the age of 10 years old in general good health and fitness, and are not suffering from a cold or ear infection, you should be eligible to become a Open Water Diver. Please check the health requirements for this course to obtain their first internationally recognised scuba certification becoming a PADI Scuba Diver.

What you will learn? :

Course contents

• All the basics of scuba diving through knowledge development, a set of scuba skills in the pool that you?ll use again during open water dives, and an appreciation for the underwater world that will keep you coming back for more bottom time every chance you get!

  During the course you?ll cover material and practice skills related to topics such as:

• Buoyancy skills including comfortable ascents and descents, and breathing underwater.
• Staying warm underwater, streamlining your swimming skills and buddy diving techniques.
• Diving environments and aquatic life you?re likely to encounter.
• Preventing common problems underwater.
• An introduction to boat diving.
  

Preparation

• Get your PADI Open Water Crew Pack from Go Dive Lanta's dive store with a brief explanation of how to use it from our Staff.
  

Knowledge development

• Your instructor will close knowledge gaps and eliminate misinterpretations by using a video and verbal presentation.
  

Training in the swimming pool

• Our swimming pool offers a 1,50 meters / 4,5 feet shallow end and a 2,50 meters / 7,50 feet deep end to practice in. Your instructor will explain and slowly demonstrate each and every skill for you and give you enough time to practice. We will also check if you are able to swim and feel comfortable in the water.
  

Training in open water

• During your course you will participate in two open water training dives to a maximum depth of 12 meters / 40 feet which will last 40-60 minutes each dive. The first dive does not contain any formal skills but gets you acclimatised to the new environment. During the second dive you will repeat the skills you have already learn in the pool and apply them to open water situations.
  Both dives offer plenty of time to discover the underwater world and explore Koh Lanta?s tropical reefs. Last day of your course is conducted on our boat, Go Dive Lanta will provide you with free breakfast and lunch.

The Scuba Gear You Use :

• You?ll use all the basic scuba gear and some of it may be included with your course. You may want to invest in your own mask, snorkel and fins since these personal items are a lot more fun to use when they fit properly. A buoyancy compensating jacket that holds your scuba tank, a scuba regulator that delivers air, a weight system and instrumentation to monitor depth and air supply will also be used. Depending on the scuba diving environment, you might also wear a scuba wetsuit .Ask at Go Dive Shop about the scuba equipment you?ll use.
