Ko Haa Dive Site ? Ko Lanta, Thailand. Suitable for scuba divers and snorkelers of all levels.

Ko or Koh means Island and Ha or Haa means five in Thai, These five small islands are 1.45 hours by boat from Ko Lanta, just time enough to enjoy breakfast and dive briefings. The islands are a favorite spot as diving conditions are almost always good. Depths range from 3 - 50 meters, with an abundance of marine life.

Ko Haa?s scuba diving highlights include The Lagoon, The Cathedral and The Chimney. There are also underwater pinnacles, drop-offs, walls, bolders and other caverns, inter-connected chambers and swim-throughs to explore.

The Lagoon has a central lagoon area that is ideal for beginner divers. It offers a safe and relaxed starting point for you to take your first underwater breaths and there are some extremely friendly little Porcupine Puffer Fish, ready to make your acquaintance in the large, sandy bay area. The bay slopes gently onto the reef allowing you to progress into your first dive effortlessly. The Lagoon consists of

One of Ko Haa?s highlights is the series of caverns and swim-throughs at  Koh Ha Yai (Koh Haa Yai or Ko Ha island # 5). The largest cavern has three chambers and is known as The Cathedral. The two chambers are connected by a shallow swim through at about 9 metres. It is possible to surface inside the Cathedral and see the limestone stalactites looming from the high ceilings.

Ko Haa Island #1 (Ko Haa Nueng) has the famous Chimney Cavern system and other systems to explore. You can find banded sea snakes, lionfish, nudibranches, frogfish, harlequin shrimps, many other crustaceans and beautiful cowries.

The marine life that can be found at Ko Haa varies from rare Ghost Pipefish measuring only a few centimetres, to an abundance of Octopus hiding amongst the rocks and crevices. A Hawksbill Turtle is often seen swimming amongst the pristine coral. Manta Rays, Marble Rays, Eagle Rays and even Whale Sharks are spotted here occasionally. You can?t predict exactly what you?ll see, but it?s always a pleasant and rewarding surprise! If you take a look out into the blue, you can find huge schools of silverside fish, glassfish, barracudas and travellie. The crystal-clear waters and consistent visibility of 25m+ make Ko Haa an un-forgettable scuba diving and snorkelling destination.
