The eLearning Open Water Diver course
is the world's most popular scuba course, and has introduced millions of people to the adventurous diving lifestyle.
Learning to scuba dive requires both knowledge development – including facts, principles and concepts – and dive skills including techniques and methods. eLearning Open Water Diver uses videos, audio, graphics and reading to help you learn, plus short quizzes that let you gauge your progress, and then offers a review of anything you happen to miss. By completing knowledge development online, you’re ready to meet with our instructor and start having fun in the water.
You develop dive skills during actual dives with our Dive Instructor at Go Dive Lanta.

To enroll in a PADI eLearning Open Water Diver course (or eLearning Junior. Open Water Diver course)

You must be 13 years old or older.

You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health.

No prior experience with scuba diving is required.

What you will learn in PADI eLearning Open Water Diver Course?
Course contents
The course takes 3 days and includes 1 day of knowledge development and pool training as well as 2 days training in the open water with 4 training dives.
Knowledge Development (Theory)
The Knowledge Development is now also available online as an PADI E-Learning program.
Our instructor will help you to review your knowledge gaps and answer all the questions you might have from your eLearning.
Training in Confine Water

Your instructor will explain and slowly demonstrate how to set up and use diving equipment.

In Swimming Pool
Our instructor will explain and slowly demonstrate each and every skill for you and give you enough time to practice. Also check if you are able to swim and feel comfortable in the water to prepare for safe diving with buddy system.

Training in open water
During your course you will participate in 4 open water training dives which will last 40-60 minutes each. Two of those will take you to a maximum depth of 12 meters / 40 feet and the other two dives are limited to 18 meters / 60 feet.
The first dive does not include any formal skills and will help you to acclimatise to the new environment.
During the 3 remaining dives you will apply the skills you have already mastered in the swimming pool to open water conditions, combined with a guided tour to explore Koh Lanta's tropical reefs. Our instructor will show you a huge variety of tropical coral and fish. Clown fish, barracudas, lion fish, trumpet fish, groupers and many other marine creatures will greet you in their world.
In addition to that you will learn about compass handling both at the surface and under water. Don't worry, your instructor will explain how to handle the compass.

Your experienced buddy and instructor understands your problems as a beginner and will be there to assist you whilst under water.
