Ko Bida's scuba diving highlights.
They are one of the best places in Thailand to see Leopard Sharks and have a healthy local population of these graceful creatures. There are also underwater pinnacles, drop-offs, walls, bolders,caverns and swim-throughs to explore.
The Bidas as they are usually referred to comprise of Bida Nok, Bida Nai and Hin Bida. A stone throw away just the south from the Phi Phi Islands; they share the same impressive limestone façade as their larger neighbours.
Koh Bidah are 1.45 hours by boat from Ko Lanta, just time enough to enjoy breakfast, dive & snorkelling briefings.
The dive sites around Ko Phi Phi tend not to have such consistently good visibility as at Koh Haa but the top dive sites such as Bidah Nai, Bidah Nok and Hin Bidah are home to such a concentration of marine and coral life that divers tend not to even notice!

Koh Bida Nok and it's sister pinnacle, Koh Bida Nai, are two of the most popular dive sites of the Phi Phi Island group.
Bida Nok has a shallow sheltered bay where blue spotted stingrays and mantis shrimp can often be found. From the bay on the south west corner of the island, a finger reef gradually descends; covered in sea fans its western wall drops down to 27 meters. Large colonies of glass fish hug its face hoping for some protection from the many predators and tremendous schools of snapper stretch along its length. Leopard sharks can be found on the sandy patches at the base of the wall and turtles often graze casually here. The eastern side of the island lacks the dramatic walls but there is a good chance of seeing black tip reef sharks darting around in the shallows.

Bida Nai. This pear shaped island is another great dive.
The west and north sides of the island is dominated by a shear wall that drops down to around 20 meters, huge gorgonian sea fans cling to it surface, large schools of snapper congregate here seeking shelter from the larger predator fish that they are constantly harried by. Magnificent anemones are prolific, especially on the east side of the island, and are home to clown fish and porcelain crabs. On the southern tip, large boulders create a series of swim troughs. In the shallows large pharaoh cuttle fish can sometimes be found. Much like Bida Nok this site also sometimes attracts leopard sharks, black tip reef sharks and turtles.

Hin Bida is a large undersea mount that barely breaks the surface. It lacks much coral growth but is very popular with leopard sharks which can be found resting at its sandy base, at 20 meters, in one of the many canyons and channels that cut thought the reef or they can be found swimming close to the surface around its summit. Large schools of snapper, cuttle fish and the occasional turtle add to the allure of this site
